Matthew Moore

Chairperson

Having been involved with HTI for the past 17 years, Matt is pleased to be back sitting on the Board of Directors.

Having been involved in theatre since the age of 12, Matt is no stranger to the stage, both performing and in the director’s chair.

Matt is also an accomplished cook, having worked at various restaurants in the Hamilton area over the past decades.

Kyle Ferreira

First Vice Chair

Kyle Ferreira is a local business owner with a lifelong love of theatre performance and production. Starting as a child performer in film and television, Kyle has been part of as many shows as he has had time to do over the years. Having worked in all facets of theatre, effective on stage as well as behind the scenes, he is a huge fan of the act of putting on a show. Kyle is very excited to be part of this dedicated and tireless group of people working for the continued success of this theatre they all love so much.

Erika Bennett

Second Vice Chair

Erika first joined HTI in 2023 in the ensemble of Something Rotten! after moving to Hamilton in summer 2022, with the primary goal of meeting new friends and neighbours. The Spring 2023 production marked the end of a 9-year hiatus from musical theatre, and since then she has also contributed behind the scenes, co-choreographing the Winter 2024 production of Seussical. With a background in vocal performance and competitive dance and a passion for community engagement, Erika is delighted to have the opportunity to support the endeavours of HTI as a pillar of theatre in Hamilton and can’t wait to see how this community space can grow and thrive going forward.

Mallory Toye

Secretary of the Board

A graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Film and Seneca College with a diploma in Acting for Camera and Voice, Mallory has a rich background in the performing arts. While at McMaster, Mallory immersed herself in community theatre in and around Hamilton, where she forged lasting friendships with fellow HTI members. After college, she spent five years performing at Medieval Times, captivating audiences as both the Princess and later the Queen. Her passion for community theatre stems from the connections and camaraderie it fosters. At HTI, Mallory is committed to nurturing a welcoming environment where like-minded artists can experience the same friendship, acceptance, and sense of belonging that has enriched her life.

Kayla Jensen

Director of Box Office & Front of House

Kayla has been part of HTI for over 5 years and creating theatre for nearly 15 years. Life has returned her to theatre time and again in unexpected ways; having had the opportunity to add Theatre and Film as a double major with Social Science at McMaster, it was the beginning of an unexpected path. Over the years, she has participated in community theatre, student productions, and fringe festival productions with several companies. Some of the best connections she’s built were through HTI. She is grateful for the experience HTI has provided on stage, backstage, and in the theatre. She is happy to bring her experience home to HTI and support a growing arts community.

John Connolly

Director of Facilities & Building Maintenance

After spending much of his youth in Ottawa community theatre, John earned a BA in Drama from the University of Windsor and a diploma in Acting for Film and Television from Vancouver Film School. Having moved to Hamilton in Spring 2023, John returned to his theatrical roots by auditioning for Big Fish, where he became an HTI member and his involvement with the organization hasn’t stopped since. Having participated both on and off stage across multiple productions, John is excited to join the Board to support HTI’s wonderful community and help deliver impactful theatre experiences to every patron who visits.

Angela Skelhorn

Director of Rentals and Events

Angela Skelhorn is an educator, artist, and community builder dedicated to enriching lives through early childhood education and the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from OCAD University, alongside a diploma in Early Childhood Education, seamlessly blending her passion for creativity with foundational learning. When she isn’t teaching, Angela is deeply immersed in the local arts scene—collaborating with a local choir and creating original drawings, paintings, and textile crafts for regional artisan fairs. Having previously shared her talents on stage in Hamilton Theatre Inc.’s productions of Anne of Green Gables and Grease, Angela is thrilled to step into a new role as a member of the Board of Directors for Hamilton Theatre Inc., where she looks forward to supporting the vibrant community that inspired her.

Steven Fulton

Director of Social Media & Graphic Design

Steven was introduced to HTI through a close friend as an audience member in 2024, and ever since, he has been passionate about the community and going ons at the theatre. Steven is an artist, creating a few pieces for HTI, and enjoys seeing others express themselves through different forms of art or discussing different ways to be creative. With his welcoming and friendly personality, he wants to make sure everyone feels the same welcoming energy he did when he became a part of the community and is excited to see HTI continue to evolve as a place for creativity to thrive!

Katlyn Alcock

Director of Sponsorship and Outreach

Katlyn has been a long-time friend of the HTI family. She’s worn many metaphorical hats within the theatre, having been a cast member, volunteer, choreographer, and now a part of the Board of Directors! This is, of course, on top of her day job, working in advertising and marketing for around a decade, notably working on theatrical and entertainment business.

Katlyn is excited to be a part of such an amazing group of people working to build a pleasant, safe space for all!

Haleigh Wallace

Recording Secretary & Membership Coordinator

Haleigh fell in love with HTI while rehearsing for and performing The Prom in spring 2024. Her journey into the world of musical theatre was a lifelong process – Haleigh grew up singing and joined a show choir (shoutout to Absolute Pitch!) at McMaster University (giving her some much-needed dance experience) before performing in her first full-length musical in summer 2022. HTI has been an extremely welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment, and has provided tons of opportunities for growth in the short time that Haleigh has been involved. Haleigh is excited to continue building existing friendships and welcoming in new members to the HTI community through the magic of theatre.
